Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department,
to execute a Purchase Order with Accuvant, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $ 835,856.82
for purchase of the Brocade Network Infrastructure Solution for Contra Costa Regional
Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from March 1, 2012
through February 28, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This purchase is fully paid for from (a) the Medicare & Medicaid Electronic Health Records
(EHR) Incentive Program of the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and (b)
the Delivery System Reform and Incentive Pool (DSRIP) funding.
BACKGROUND:
The Health Services Department must replace its dated Core network which is used to
handle all network traffic in the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa
Health Centers. The current equipment is end of life and end of support on October 1, 2012.
The Department cannot deploy the network after the Epic Electronic Medical Records
Project upgrade due to the downtime associated with it.
