APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee,
to execute a contract with STAND! For Families Free of Violence in an amount not to
exceed $135,723 to provide Child Welfare Redesign Differential Response Program for the
period July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$135,723: 100% State Child Welfare Servicess Outcome Improvement Program
BACKGROUND:
The Employment and Human Services Department, Children and Family Services (CFS)
Bureau is implementing Child Welfare (CWS) Redesign to enhance current service delivery
and improve outcomes for children and families. The redesign plan includes providing early
intervention

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
services, developing community partnerships, and increasing the number of resource
families. The Department issued a Request for Proposals #1120 in order to solicit
organizations interested in providing case management services to families at-risk of
becoming involved with the Child Welfare System.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Employment and Human Services Department will be unable to offer valuable services.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This contract supports all of the community outcomes established in the Children’s Report
Card: 1) “Children Ready for and Succeeding in School”; 2) “Children and Youth Healthy
and Preparing for Productive Adulthood”; 3) “Families that are Economically Self
Sufficient”; 4) “Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing”; and 5) “Communities that are
Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families,” by providing
intervention for families at-risk of entering the Child Welfare System.
