RECOMMENDED ACTION
Reclassify Planner III , position number 5ATA 20-05, to Planner IV without examination.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Minimal . Cost is within Department budget.
REASONS
This adjustment is needed to adequately reflect the level of work and responsibility
of the position.
BACKGROUND
The complexity and level of job duties of the current position have increased to
a Planner IV level . The incumbent has performed well in a Planner IV capacity for
the last six months.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION
Due to the complex and sophisticated nature of the position , it would be costly and
detrimental to the County to call for a Planner IV examination when the incumbent
is performing these job duties at an above-average performance level .
