Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21065 to increase the hours of three (3)
Institutional Service Worker – Generalist (1KVD) positions, #8164 and #9033 from
permanent-intermittent to permanent full-time, position # 7686 from 25/40 to 40/40, one (1)
Community Health Worker II (VKVB) position #8656 from 24/40 to 40/40, and one (1)
Respiratory Care Practitioner II (VIVA) position #9784 from 32/40 to 40/40 in the Health
Services Department, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between the
County and Public Employees Union Local One.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is an annual cost of approximately $68,150.40, including pension costs of $16,458.09,
which is offset by overtime and registry costs. Enterprise I Fund.
BACKGROUND:
The Health Services Department is requesting to increase the hours of the following
permanent part-time and permanent-intermittent positions and their incumbents in

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
with the Memorandum of Understanding between the County and Local One. In the past
six months, these employees have consistently worked the increased hours: 1)
Institutional Service Worker – Generalist position #8164 and incumbent Felipe Santiago,
from permanent-intermittent to 40/40; 2) Institutional Service Worker – Generalist
position #9033 and incumbent Jawad Fakhuri, from permanent-intermittent to 40/40; 3)
Institutional Service Worker – Generalist position #7686 and incumbent Matthew Harr,
from 25/40 to 40/40; 4) Community Health Worker II position #8656 and incumbent
Loan Hoang from 24/40 to 40/40; and 5) Respiratory Care Practitioner II position #9784
and incumbent Michael Quintana, from 32/40 to 40/40.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, the Department will not have sufficient staff to meet its
operational needs, which impacts patient care services.
