Acknowledge receipt of notice from New Connections, a non-profit corporation,
terminating Contract #24-948-22, for the provision of substance abuse and mental health
services for CalWORKs program participants effective at the close of business on February
29, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by the State of California Work Opportunities and
Responsibilities to Kids (CalWORKs) through the Employment and Human Services
Department.
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing outpatient
assessments and pre-treatment and pre-sobriety services for substance abusing and mentally
ill participants in the CalWORKs program to help eliminate barriers to employment.
On August 9, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24–948–22 with New
Connections for the period from July 1, 2011
