APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to execute a contract with
the City of Richmond to pay the County an amount not to exceed $326,625 for forensic
firearms examination services for the period February 29, 2012 through June 30, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$326,625.00. 100% Revenue; Budgeted. The County will be reimbursed for costs incurred
during the examination of forensic firearm evidence originating from the City of Richmond.
BACKGROUND:
The Sheriff's Office Forensic Services Division has been providing dedicated firearms
examination services to the City of Richmond since March 2008. Funding through this
interagency agreement will be used by County to contract with John Murdock & Associates,
LLC, to conduct forensic casework and firearms comparison for the City of Richmond
using the County laboratory.
