Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute on behalf of
the County Standard Agreement #29-611-30 (State #12-3001) with the State Office of
Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD), to pay County an amount not to
exceed $103,230 for continuation of the Family Practice Residency Program, for the period
from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Agreement will result in a total of $103,230 from the State Office of
Statewide Health Planning and Development for the Family Practice Residency Program,
through June 30, 2015. No County match required.
BACKGROUND:
Since 1978, the Board of Supervisors has approved subsequent Agreements with the State
to provide funds for the County's Family Practice Residency Program.
Approval of Standard Agreement #29-611-30 will allow continuation of the Family Practice
Residency Program at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center,

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
including training for additional family practice residents for a three-year cycle beginning
fiscal years 2012-2015, including agreeing to indemnify and hold harmless the State for
claims arising out of County’s performance under both of this agreement.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, the County will not receive funding to continue providing
family medicine training to Residents in the Family Medicine Residency Program at Contra
Costa Regional Medicine Center.
