HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03132012 - C.29RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE Appropriations and Revenue Adjustment No. 5043 to transfer revenue in the amount of $100,000 from the Narcotics Forfeiture Fund (0253) to the Office of the Sheriff Investigation unit (0255) for purchase of equipment for a surveillance van. FISCAL IMPACT: This action increases revenue and expenditures by $100,000. The new revenue is from the Narcotics Forfeiture Fund to Sheriff's Investigations. BACKGROUND: Crime Point is the only vendor that manufactures and sells fully integrated surveillance systems with a self-contained electric cooling system sufficient for our purposes. Their system is portable and will allow the Sheriff's Office the flexibility of utilizing the equipment in different configurations as needed to fulfill the investigative objectives of the department. The specific performance of this proprietary system is required for employee comfort and sustainability during operations in warm weather and to maintain the covert protection necessary in undercover police operations.
