FISCAL IMPACT: This action increases revenue and expenditures by $740,000. The new revenue is from accumulated annual contributions made by various agencies to the County Law Enforcement Capital Projects Fund (105600), which is administered by the Office of the Sheriff. BACKGROUND: The Motorola data and radio system used by the Office of the Sheriff is a proprietary system. The APX7500 handheld radio is required for the new P25 Interoperable Radio system that has been installed throughout the county. Although these radios are not proprietary, additional future enhancements to the system can only be accessed through proprietary additions to these radios.
