HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03132012 - SD.6RECOMMENDATION(S): ACCEPT an oral report regarding the status of a potential special tax measure to supplement District revenue. FISCAL IMPACT: None. This report is for informational purposes only. BACKGROUND: Due to a significant decline in tax revenue and increases in pension costs due to de-pooling, the District is facing extremely challenging fiscal conditions. This situation is occurring in spite of serious efforts to control and reduce District expenses. The District will recommend a special tax measure be placed on the ballot in November. Tramutola LLC has been contracted to provide five deliverables. During this period, the company has developed a communications strategy and communications program for the District. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The report will not be accepted by the Board of Directors.
