ACCEPT an oral report regarding the status of grant funding awarded to the District. (Daryl
Louder, Fire Chief)
FISCAL IMPACT:
None. This report is for informational purposes only.
BACKGROUND:
The District participated in two regional grant applications that will be hosted by the San
Ramon Valley Fire District and the City of El Cerrito. The purpose of the grants was to
purchase mobile and portable radios that are necessary to operate with the new East Bay
Regional Communication System (EBRCS). The value of the award to the Contra Costa
County Fire Protection District was over $1M. Additionally, the District recently took
delivery of a new ladder truck that was primarily paid for with a grant that was awarded in
2011.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The report will not be accepted by the Board of Directors.
