Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department
to execute, a blanket Purchase Order in the amount of $350,000 with ConMed Corporation,
for the purchase of various surgical and medical supplies for Contra Costa Regional
Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, from March 1, 2012 through February 28,
2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
ConMed Corporation offers a line of endomechanical insturmentation for minimally
invasive laparoscopic procedures, including but not limited to trocars, dissectors, graspers,
ligation and stapling devices and suction/irrigation products. ConMed Corporation also
provides electrosurgical generators, hand pieces, smoke management systems and
accessories. These products enable the Health Services Department to provide a large
variety of procedures to patients to improve the state of their health. ConMed Corporation is
a participating vendor in our group purchasing alliance ensuring that we receive preferred
