HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02282012 - C.54RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract with California Diesel & Power, in an amount not to exceed $950,000, for preventative maintenance and repair of the County's emergency generators, for the period February 1, 2012 through January 31, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: This cost is to be funded through Facilities Fiscal Year 2011/12, 2012/13 and 2013/14 maintenance budgets. BACKGROUND: Facilities Services is responsible for maintenance and repair of all County emergency generator sets. The County owns and operates 43 emergency and standby generators. These gensets provide facilities with emergency power in the event of a utility power outage. Maintenance is contracted to outside vendors by Facilities Services. Originally bid on Bidsync #1109-012, California Diesel & Power and California Generator Service were the awarded vendors for this work. We are requesting this contract be approved for a period covering the next three years.
