The Proud Fathers Program currently serves low and very-low income fathers and
fathers-to-be, most of whom are young fathers involved in the criminal justice system.
Since 2010, Proud Fathers, facilitated by STAND! For Families Free of Violence, has
served 137 fathers involved with the probation Department, and anticipate being able to
expand this client base significantly to include mothers and mothers-to-be involved with the
probation Department.
This year, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Corrections
Standards Authority, require proposals be submitted by California County Probation
Departments only. The initial grant period is July 1, 2012 though June 30, 2013 in an
amount not to exceed $100,000 with two additional years possibly available on a
non-competitive basis.
