HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02282012 - C.34RECOMMENDATION(S): Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No.21053 to increase the hours of Physical Therapist II (V5VF) position #11083 from 24/40 to 28/40 at salary level QT5 1746 ($6019.52 - 7316.76) in the Health Services Department. FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this action is will result in an annual cost of approximately $12,906, including pension costs of $3,116, and will covered by Enterprise 1 funds. BACKGROUND: In accordance with Section 52 C of the MOU between the County and Local 1, permanent - intermittent and permanent part-time employees in classes represented by Local 1 who wish to have their position hours increased, must so request in writing each January and/or July. The Department must review each request considering the actual hours assigned and worked by the employee during the previous six months as well as the anticipated continuing need for the additional hours. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) II position #11083 submitted a request in January 2012 for her position hours to be increased from 24/40 to 28/40. The Health Services Department reviewed the request and verified that she consistently worked above her position hours and the need for the additional hours will continue. As such, the Department is requesting that the position hours of Physical Therapist II position #11083 be increased from 24/40 to 28/40. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this action is not approved, the Department will not have sufficient hours in this position to perform the required work which could have a negative impact on patient care. Furhter, the County would not be in compliance with its agreement with Local 1 regarding hours increases. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable. ATTACHMENTS P-300 #21053
