SUBJECT: Endorsement of Humboldt County
Statewide Employee Wellness Conference
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) a BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I . RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Endorse the County Employee Health Promotion Conference sponsored by Humboldt
County to be held in Ventura, California on April 17 and 18, 1986.
II . FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None
III . REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND:
The County Administrator' s Office of Humboldt County is coordinating a statewide
conference on Employee Wellness Programs and Health Promotion for County governments
and other non-governmental agencies.
It is their intent to share some of the technical information and resources they
have in relation to health promotion and to draw together the fifteen (15) other
counties in California who are involved in Employee Wellness Programs for mutual
resource sharing and networking.
The Director of Personnel , Harry Cisterman, and the Employee Wellness Coordinator,
Maureen Dixon, will be attending this conference. To date, endorsement for this
conference has been obtained from the County Supervisors Association, California
Conference of Local Health Officers and County Health Care Administrators
Association, Public Agency Risk Managers Association and County Personnel
Administrators Association.
As this Board has taken such an active stand supporting and promoting the Employee
Wellness Program for Contra Costa employees, we request that the Board join these
other agencies in endorsing this conference.
