HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02142012 - C.47RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-700-1 with Jaison James, M.D., Inc., a professional corporation, effective January 1, 2012, to amend Contract #26-700, to increase the payment limit by $675,000, from $675,000 to a new payment limit of $1,350,000 with no change in the original term of August 1, 2011 through July 31, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On August 16, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-700 with Jaison James, M.D., Inc., for period from August 1, 2011 through July 31, 2014, for the provision of orthopedic services including consultation, training, on-call services and medical and/or surgical procedures. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) services due to the departure of another orthopedic surgeon at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, through July 31, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, patients requiring these medical services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers would experience longer wait times and possibly go untreated.
