HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02072012 - C.61RECOMMENDATION(S):
Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department,
to execute a Purchase Order with General Electric Healthcare, Inc. in the amount of
$226,639.51 for a Proteus Digital Radiographic System with FlashPad for Contra Costa
Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
As equipment ages and technology advances many parts and components are no longer
produced thereby rendering these older units “End of Life”. The current Richmond Health
Center has equipment that falls into this category. GE Healthcare will no longer renew or
offer new service agreements with an uptime or parts commitment. The replacement system
will bring the existing analog unit into the digital realm. Direct Digital radiology improves
workflow, faster image availability, better image quality, increased staff productivity and
lower radiation dose to the patient.
