Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department,
to execute a Purchase Order with General Electric Healthcare, Inc. in the amount of
$400,103.80 for a Precision 500D Digital Radiographic/Fluoroscopic System with FlashPad
for the Contra Costa Regional Medical and Health Centers.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
This purchase will replace a current analog unit that has received an “End of Life
Announcement” from GE Healthcare. The upgrade will convert an existing unit to Direct
Digital Technology. As equipment ages and technology advances many parts and
components are no longer produced thereby rendering these older units “End of Life”. The
current Richmond Health Center has equipment that falls into this category. GE Healthcare
will no longer renew or offer new service agreements with an uptime or parts commitment.
The replacement system will bring the existing analog unit into the digital realm. Direct
Digital radiology improves workflow, faster image availability, better image quality,
