APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Probation Officer, or designee, to execute a
contract amendment with Behavioral Interventions, Inc. (B.I., Inc.), to extend the term from
December 31, 2011 to January 31, 2012 and increase the payment limit by $30,000 to a new
payment limit of $495,000 to provide electronic monitoring equipment and services.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for electronic monitoring services is included in the Probation Department's annual
budget and partially offset by participant fees.
BACKGROUND:
The Probation Department contracts with Behavioral Interventions, Inc. to provide
electronic monitoring services and equipment to probationers. This amendment extends the
contract term by one month and increases the payment limit by $30,000 for a total of
$495,000. The Probation Department has gone out to bid for electronic monitoring services
and a new contract is being negotiated.
