HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02072012 - C.01RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Public Works Department, to execute a Purchase Order with Tri-American in an amount not to exceed $210,000, for the purchase of rubberized crack sealant and detack solution for Public Works Road Maintenance, Countywide. (Project No. 0672-6U2160) (100% Local Road funds) FISCAL IMPACT: 100% Local Road Funds. BACKGROUND: These materials are used by the Public Works Maintenance crews to preserve the existing County road infrastructure by filling cracks in the pavement to prevent water intrusion. The detack solution is sprayed on freshly filled cracks to prevent the hot crack seal material from sticking to tires of vehicles driving through the work site. This method of extending the pavement life has been part of the County's Pavement Preservation Program for 30+ years.
