HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01102012 - C.133RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-644-6 with MGA Healthcare, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $250,000, to provide temporary pharmacists and pharmacy technicians at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. No rate increase. BACKGROUND: On March 15, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-644-4 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #26-644-5) with MGA Healthcare, Inc. for the period from January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011, for the provision of temporary pharmacy staff at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers to provide coverage during peak loads, temporary absences and emergencies. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers would not have appropriate pharmacy coverage during temporary staff absences.
