Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Contract #26-588-6 with Robert Green (dba East Bay Audiologists), a
sole-proprietor, in an amount not to exceed $400,000 to provide audiological evaluation
services for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health
Centers, for the period from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (no rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On January 25, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-588-5 with Robert
Green (dba East Bay Audiologists) to provide audiological services including hearing
evaluations, hearing aid evaluations and fittings and dispensing and procurement of hearing
aids and supplies for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa
Health Centers, for the period from January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Approval of Contract #26-588-6 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide services,
through December 31, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, patients requiring these medical services at Contra Costa
Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers would have longer wait times and
possibly go untreated.
