HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01102012 - C.108RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-565-10 with DocuStream, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $230,000, to provide electronic claims processing services for the Contra Costa Health Plan for the period from November 1, 2011 through October 31, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by plan member premiums. Costs depend upon utilization. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: The Contra Costa Health Plan (“CCHP”) has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County. CCHP Providers submit their claims to Contractor, who then submit claims to County in an electronic format, in accordance with State and Federal mandates. Approval of Contract #27-565-10 will allow Contractor to continue providing services through October 31, 2012. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, Contra Costa Health Plan will not receive electronic claims processing services from Contractor. Providers may experience delays in payment and the Health Plan may become out of compliance and be subjected to sanctions and civil penalties per California and Federal law.
