HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01102012 - C.85RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #23-363-13 with Taryk Rouchdy, (DBA International Effectiveness Center), a sole proprietorship, in an amount not to exceed $200,000, to provide interpreting and translation services to the Health Services Department, for the period from December 1, 2011 through November 30, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by the Department’s Enterprise Fund I. BACKGROUND: Approval of this Contract will meet Title VI language access regulations and Limited English Proficient (LEP) patient/client needs for the County. Approval of Contract #23-363-13, will allow the Contractor to continue providing interpretation and translation services in various languages for Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients/clients including, but not limited to, over the phone and in-person interpreting and translation of written materials, through November 30, 2012. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, the Health Services Department would need to contract with another contractor in order to meet Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. Section 2000d, et.seq. language access policy and Limited English Proficient (LEP) patient/client needs. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
