Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Contract #26-614-6 with Sodexo America, LLC, a limited liability company,
in an amount not to exceed $377,855, for the provision management and oversight of the
Environmental Services Unit at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa
Health Centers, for the period from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise I Funds. No rate increase.
BACKGROUND:
On February 8, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-614-5 with Sodexo
America, LLC to provide management and oversight of the Environmental Services Unit at
Contra Costa Regional Centers including providing day-to-day on-site management,
addressing potential problem and ensuring standards of cleanliness at Contra Costa Regional
Medical Center, for the period from January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Approval of Contract #26-614-6 will allow the Contractor to provide an interim
management for the Environmental Services Unit while the Department continues to recruit
for a permanent replacement, through December 31, 2012.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health
Centers would not have management and oversight of the Environmental Services Unit.
