HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01102012 - C.69RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #24-728-81 with Rubicon Programs Incorporated, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $1,345,200, to provide mental health program services for mentally disturbed adults in West County, for the period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2012, in an amount not to exceed $672,600. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 97% by Federal FFP Medi-Cal, 3% by State Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT). (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing outreach services for vocational programs, independent living residential treatment services, and rehabilitative day treatment program services for mentally disturbed adults. On December 14, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #24–728–80 with Rubicon Programs Incorporated, for the period from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011, which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2011, for the provision of mental health program services for mentally disturbed adults. Approval of Novation Contract #24–728–81 replaces the automatic extension under the prior Contract and allows the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2012. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, there will be fewer medi-cal rehabilitative programs for mentally disturbed adults. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: NOT APPLICABLE
