APPROVE Appropriations and Revenue Adjustment No. 5034 authorizing new revenue in
the amount of $1,548,270 from the County's Local Revenue Fund (State of California
AB109 Public Safety Realignment) and appropriating it to the Probation Department for
expenditure on public safety realignment responsibilities as defined in the County's
Community Corrections Partnership 2011/12 Realignment Plan and Budget.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Board of Supervisors approved the County's Community Corrections Partnership
2011/12 Realignment Budget on October 4, 2011. This budget allocated $1,548,270 to the
Probation Department. Probation expenses related to realignment will be reimbursed from
the County's Local Revenue Fund. An additional $200,000 has been received by the
Probation Department to cover planning costs.
BACKGROUND:
The Contra Costa County Public Safety Realignment Implementation Plan 2011 was
approved by the Board of Supervisors October 4, 2011. The Probation Department is
establishing a budget for AB109 Realignment costs in Org 3085.
