Subject:Increase the hours of four permanent part-time positions in the Health Services Department
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
increase the position hours of two (2) Therapist Assistant (V5WF) positions #12172
(incumbent Jamie Louis, Employee #73483) from 28/40 to 30/40 and #12173 (incumbent
Crisanto Carpiso, Employee #73843) from 24/40 to 30/40 at salary level QT5-1435
($4,424 - $5,377), and two (2) Occupational Therapist II (V5VH) positions #8269

(incumbent Kathryn Moore, Employee #74402) from 30/40 to 32/40 at salary level
QT5-1746 ($6,019 - $7,316) in the Rehabilitation Therapy Services Unit at Contra Costa
Regional Medical Center and its Health Centers. (Represented)
This request meets the criteria set forth in the MOU as the incumbents have consistently
worked over their designated position hours in the past six months and the Department
has determined that there is a continuing need for the additional hours.
Upon approval, there is an annual cost associated with this action at approximately
$38,329.25, including approximately $9,256.00 in pension costs, which is offset by
straight time overtime pay already incurred by incumbents working over their designated
position hours.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, the Department will not have adequate staff hours to meet
the service needs of rehabilitation therapy patients, which may negatively impact patient
care. Further, the Department will not be in compliance with the agreement with Public
Employees Union, Local One.
