ATTESTED: December 13, 2011 David Twa, County Administrator and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors By: June McHuen, Deputy cc: J pigg, D Gary C. 53 To:Board of Supervisors From:William Walker, M.D., Health Services Director Date:December 13, 2011 Contra Costa County Subject:Correct item #C.23 with Financial Marketing Concepts, Inc. Contract #29-787 for County-wide Pharmacy Discount Prescription Card BACKGROUND: On January 26, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved the implementation of a Pharmacy Discount Prescription Card Program available to all Contra Costas County residents and allowed the County Health Services Department to execute a contract with Financial Marketing Concepts, Inc., to pay the County an amount not to exceed $500,000, for the period from January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010. Due to an administrative oversight, the contract term did not reflect the intent of the parties, to allow the term to be automatically renewed every year through December 31, 2017, unless County or Contractor terminates with thirty (30) days written notice. The purpose of this board order is to correct the term and therefore allow the Contractor to continue to provide the County-wide Pharmacy Discount Prescription Program. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, the County uninsured residents will not be able to participate in the benefits of the County-wide Pharmacy Discount Prescription Program. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: NOT APPLICABLE .
