ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20976 to add one (1) Fingerprint Technician I
(64WJ) (represented) position at salary level VN5 1344 ($4,042 - $4,457) to the
Identification and Records Unit in the Office of the Sheriff.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval of this action will cost approximately $95,599.00 annually. Cost will be
funded by Remote Access Network (RAN) Board -Cal ID funds.
BACKGROUND:
The Cal-ID is a network of independent Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems,
dedicated to Department of Justice connected workstations throughout the State. The
Remote Access Network (RAN) Board governs and funds the Cal-ID Network. Cal-ID's
operational costs are covered by vehicle fees, criminal penalty assessments for Automated
Fingerprint Identification Systems (AFIS) and other functions, as well as billing local
agencies for their share of the Cal-ID usage. In an effort to improve services, the RAN
Board has granted the Office of the Sheriff funding for one additional Fingerprint
Technician I position to increase the Identification and Records Unit staff.
