HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11152011 - C.50RECOMMENDATION(S):
Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department
to execute a Purchase Order with Clinical Computer Systems, Inc., in the amount not to
exceed $425,000, for purchase of an OBIX fetal monitoring system for the Labor and
Delivery Department at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Purchase is fully paid for from (a) the Medicare & Medicaid Electronic Health Records
(EHR) Incentive Program of the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and (b)
the Delivery System Reform and Incentive Pool (DSRIP) funding.
BACKGROUND:
The Department's existing Philips OB TraceVue fetal monitoring system in the Labor and
Delivery Dept. is no longer supported by the manufacturer and replacement parts are no
longer available. Due to the age of the system, failures are common. This situation impacts
the clinician’s ability to provide an adequate standard of patient care. The Clinical Computer
Systems OBIX fetal monitoring system, which integrates with the Epic Electronic Health
Record (EHR), is the chosen replacement product.
