APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Director of Child Support Services, or designee, to
execute a contract amendment with Superior Court of California, to increase the total
payment limit by $3,230.40 to a new payment limit not to exceed $66,492.40, to provide
on-site family law facilitator services, and to extend the term from June 30, 2011 to October
31, 2011. This contract includes modified indemnification language.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This cost is funded by Federal 66% and State 34%.
BACKGROUND:
The Superior Court of California provides on site family law facilitator services at the local
child support office. These services include assistance to self-represented parties to help
them prepare the paperwork to establish or modify child and/or spousal support orders,
providing assistance to self-represented parties to help them prepare the responses to support
or paternity papers that have been served on a customer,

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
running computer generated child and spousal support calculations, providing assistance to
self represented parties to help them prepare Orders After Hearing and Wage Assignments
and providing assistance to self represented parties to help them file motions to establish
paternity (identity of the legal father.) The goal of providing said services is to improve
customer service with our customers by having a resource available to better educate and
guide them through the various child support processes.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action were not approved, the Department of Child Support Services would not have
the ability to provide on site family law facilitator services.
