HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11152011 - C.32RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, on behalf of the Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County, Small Business Development Center, to apply for and accept Community Development Block Grant funds from the Contra Costa Department of Conservation and Development, in an amount not to exceed $200,000 for micro-enterprise business start-up training and counseling for small business for the term of July1, 2012 through June 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: County to receive up to $200,000 Community Development Block Grant funds. No County match. BACKGROUND: If granted, the funds will allow the Workforce Development Board, Small Business Development Center, to provide various city and County areas with both micro-enterprise business start-up training and one-on-one counseling for small business. Clients must meet the low income guidelines of the Community Development Block Grant funding to be eligible for services.
