FINANCIAL IMPACT None. REASONS This higher level position' is necessary due to interdepartmental reorganization and Board of Supervisors ordered additional areas of responsibility. BACKGROUND The Board of Supervisors created the Community Development Department. This new Department encompasses the entire Planning Department, several divisions of Public Works and Redevelopment. In order to accomplish the Board objectives for the Com- munity Development Department an internal reorganization of positions is necessary. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION Due to the increased level and complexity of job responsibility in the planning area of the department, County efforts would suffer if a Planner IV position was not added.
