Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or designee, to accept, on behalf of
County, Grant Award #28-347 from Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., the East Bay
Area, to pay County an amount not to exceed $20,000 for County’s Public Health, Family,
Maternal and Child Health (FMCH) Programs, Prenatal Care Now Project, for the period
from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Grant Award will provide funding in the amount of $20,000 from Kaiser
Foundation Health Plan, Inc., the East Bay Area, for the Prenatal Care Now Project through
June 30, 2012. No County funds are required.
BACKGROUND:
Approval of Grant Award #28-347 will allow funding to support the County’s FMCH
Prenatal Care Now Project. This project will promote early prenatal care among African
American and Hispanic mothers through outreach, case management, and an education
campaign on presumptive eligibility Medi-cal through June 30, 2012.
