DECLARE vacant the District IV Seat on the Fish and Wildlife Committee previously held
by Bruce Weisenbach due to his death and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to post a
vacancy, as recommended by Supervisor Karen Mitchoff.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
BACKGROUND:
Established on December 13, 1994, the purpose of the Fish & Wildlife Committee is to
advise the Board of Supervisors on fish and wildlife issues in Contra Costa County, make
recommendations to the Board of Supervisors for the expenditure of funds from the Fish
and Wildlife Propagation Fund pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 13103, address
issues surrounding the enforcement of fish and game laws and regulations in the County
and consider other issues which may from time to time be referred to the Committee by the
Board of Supervisors.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
is comprised of ten members: One appointed by each Supervisor; Four appointed by the
Internal Operations Committee; and One alternate.
On October 24, 2011 Supervisor Karen Mitchoff's office received a call from John
Kopchik, staff to the Fish and Wildlife Committee, informing the office that Bruce
Weisenbach had passed away.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The seat will remain vacant.
