ATTESTED: October 4, 2011 David Twa, BY:Carrie Del Bonta , Deputy RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #76 516 5 with Howard Young, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $450,000, to provide professional Radiology services for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. No rate increase. BACKGROUND: On October 7, 2008, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #76 516 4 with Howard Young, M.D. for provision of radiology services including consultation, on-call coverage services, supervision and interpretation of CT Scan, MRI, Ultrasound, invasive procedures and plain films for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2011. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Approval of Contract #76 516 6 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide radiology services for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, through September 30, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, patients requiring these medical services at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers would have longer wait times and possibly go untreated.
