Contra Costa County, et al. , Superior Court No. 216908 and Walker v. Contra Costa County, et al. , Superior Court No. 220122 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION• Receive this report concerning subject settlements without payment by the County or Sanitation District 15 and authorize the County Administrator to execute final settlement documents for the County and the Sanitation District. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: G. Geoffrey Wood, defense counsel for the County and Sanitation District 15, has advised the County Administrator that within authorization an agreement has been reached settling the lawsuit of Miller and Walker v. Contra Costa County, et al. , Superior Court Nos. 216908 and 220122. All parties to the suits have agreed to execute a Full Release and Receipt in favor of the County and the Sanitation District and to dismiss the above-mentioned lawsuits without payment from the County or the Sanitation District. The County and the District have been defended by the insurance company providing coverage for the general contractor on the project. Cash settlements have been agreed to among the other parties involved in the lawsuits.
