ATTESTED: September 27, 2011 David Twa, BY:June McHuen , Deputy RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #26-704 with Contra Costa Rheumatology, LLC, a limited liability company, in an amount not to exceed $200,000, to provide professional rheumatology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from September 1, 2011 through August 31, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. BACKGROUND: For a number of years the County has contracted with medical, dental and mental health specialists to provide specialized professional services that are not otherwise available in its Hospital and Health Centers. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Under Contract #26-704, Contra Costa Rheumatology, LLC will provide professional rheumatology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers including clinic session, consultation, training and/or medical/surgical procedures, through August 31, 2012. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, patients requiring these medical services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers would experience much longer waits for services and may possibly go untreated.
