ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20991 to add one (1) Board of Supervisors
Assistant – Specialist (J994) position at salary level B85 1652 ($5,484 - $5,758) and cancel
one (1) Board of Supervisors Assistant – General Secretary (J993) position #13805 in the
District IV Supervisor’s Office.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The annual difference between the two classifications is approximately $5,000, $1,100 of
this amount is pension cost. These costs will be absorbed within the District IV Office
budget. This item has no general fund impact; it is budget neutral.
BACKGROUND:
This position requires a high level of responsibility as well as the need to work
independently. When the incumbent in this position left employment with the County, the
position was closely examined and it was determined that the position was improperly
classified. The Specialist postion more accurately reflects the

On May 3, 2011 the Board of Supervisors approved the FY 2011-12 budget authorizing
funding for each supervisorial district office. This action allows the reclassification of
one position for another with no change in the funding allocation to District IV.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The District IV Office will not have the appropriate staff classification necessary to meet
the needs of its constituents.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact.
