ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20978 to reclassify one (1) Account Clerk
Advanced Level (JDTD) (represented) and its incumbent position #146 to a Accounting
Technician (JD7A) (represented) position in the Auditor-Controller Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Reclassification of one Account Clerk-Advanced Level position to Accounting Technician
costs $5,388 (NCC $0) annually, which includes $1,851 in pension costs (NCC $0).
Funding was included and approved in the Office of the Auditor-Controller's FY 2011-12
budget.
BACKGROUND:
The position is assigned to the Property Tax division and the incumbent is in a temporary
upgrade status of Accounting Technician. In that status, the incumbent primarily performs
the following:
Calculate, prorate, and correct property tax rolls
Maintain financial and statistical documentation
Reconcile refunds and deposits to the general ledger

Reconcile refunds and deposits to the general ledger
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Review Assessor tax roll submissions that may require corrections and calculations
pursuant to California Revenue and Taxation codes. The duties performed are pivotal to
ensuring that property tax rolls are performed accurately and timely.
The Department of Human Resources performed a desk audit and determined that the
incumbent is indeed working out of class making this action necessary.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved the incumbent will be improperly classified at Account
Clerk Advanced Level position. The incumbent will lose the ability to carry out mission
critical property tax functions.

No impact.
