Subject:P300 #20971 Add 12 positions and cancel 6 positions in the Information Technology Division of the Health
Services Department.
#9638 in the Information Technology Division of the Health Services Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $882,035,
including pension costs of $313,122, and will be funded with Federal Electronic Medical
Records funds.
BACKGROUND:
These additional positions are critical to the success of the electronic medical records
implementation project. The positions are needed to address workload issues and ensure
that project timelines are met. The vacant positions are not needed at this time and are
being cancelled as offset.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, it will negatively impact the department's ability to meet
EMR project timelines for revenue claiming purposes which would result in a loss of
funds.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact.
