APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Risk Manager to execute a contract with TCS Risk
Management Services to administer a county-wide ergonomic program effective July 1,
2011 through June 30, 3012 in an amount not to exceed $158,847.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Costs for preventative evaluations and equipment will be charged directly to the
Departments. Costs for administration of the ergonomic program will be paid from
Workers’ Compensation Internal Service Funds.
BACKGROUND:
TCS Risk Management Services, operated by Tony Su, MBA and ARM, supervises the
ergonomics laboratory at a 7% reduction from 2009 fees. The County has been
implementing this cost savings program since 2005 to prevent and reduce ergonomic
injuries and disabilities.
Services provided include:
review and administration of ergonomic programs

Benefits of these services include:
discount pricing for equipment
prevention/reduction of level of injuries sustained by employees
savings to County of $900,000 to $1million dollars in worker’s compensation costs on
average per year.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Ergonomic program, including ergonomics laboratory and equipment, will not be available
to meet the County's needs and satisfy current regulations.
