HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09202011 - C.41RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Treasurer-Tax Collector, or his designee, to execute a
contract amendment with A&B Computer Services, to increase the payment limit by
$66,700.00 to a new payment limit of $140,875.00 and to extend the term from January 31,
2012 to June 30, 2012, as recommended by the Treasurer-Tax Collector.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% County General Fund.
BACKGROUND:
The Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office runs several networks and database systems,
including but not limited to the electronic deposit system, the cashiering system, the
property tax database, and the business license database. Maintaining and coordinating these
multiple systems requires an extensive knowledge of each, in addition to a high level of
technical skill. After working with the Department of Information Technology, it was
determined that an outside consultant would be the best solution to provide the high level of
expertise required for maintaining these multiple systems.

Subject:Contract Amendment with A&B Computers
On July 15,
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
2010, the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office contracted with A&B Computer Services, a
small business, for specialized computer services. A & B Computer Services, has spent over
10 years working with educational institutions and government agencies, offering

The Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office is in the process of updating their billing system and
the additional work needed for this process requires the contract amendment/extension.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the contract amendment is not approved, the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office will no
longer have the technical support necessary to coordinate their networks and database
systems.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
None.
