HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09132011 - C.138RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the General Services Department, to execute a purchase order with WW Grainger Company in the amount of $115,000 for fleet, facilities, custodial and engineering supplies, parts and small tools, for the period August 1, 2011 through July 31, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: $115,000, 95% County General Fund, 5% Fleet Internal Services Fund; Budgeted BACKGROUND: The General Services Department Fleet Management and Facilities Management divisions maintain a wide variety of equipment countywide. WW Grainger Company provides supplies and parts to handle a significant amount of these maintenance needs. The County utilizes the "National Joint Power Alliance" contract, which offers competitive wholesale pricing to a number of governmental entities throughout the country. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this agreement is not approved, purchasing from WW Grainger will discontinue.
