HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09132011 - C.128RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #76-524-8 with Samir B. Shah, M.D., Inc., a professional corporation, effective October 1, 2010, to amend Contract #76-524-7 to increase the payment limit by $4,100, from $1,455,000 to a new payment limit of $1,459,100, with no change in the original term of June 1, 2010 through May 31, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increases) BACKGROUND: On June 8, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #76-524-7 with Samir B. Shah, M.D., Inc., for the period from June 1, 2010 through May 31, 2013, for the provision of ophthalmology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers including, but not limited to, consultation, clinic coverage, training, on-call services and medical and/or surgical providers. Shah, M.D., Inc. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) negotiations the Payment Limit was based on target levels of utilization. However, due a additional ophthalmology services requested by County utilization for 2010/2011 was higher than originally anticipated. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #76-524-8 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide anesthesiology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers, through May 31, 2013. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, Dr. Shah would not be able to be reimbursed for services provided during the month of October 2010 due the annual Payment Limit set forth in the Contract.
