HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09132011 - C.122RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #22–953 with California Immunization Coalition, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $216,000, to provide promotion and education with regard to the California Immunization Registry for the period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by a State Immunization Grant. The California Immunization Coalition utilizes these partners for resources and expertise and to communicate as a broad network which has allowed the launching of innovative campaigns to improve immunization coverage levels for Californians of all ages. Under Contract #22–953, California Immunization Coalition will provide promotion and education with regard to the California Immunization Registry (CAIR), including public-private collaboration in the development of CAIR, informing and educating healthcare providers and their communities on emerging immunization issues and new vaccine recommendations, and increasing access to immunizations, through June 30, 2013. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County will not be able to participate in coalition activities to support immunization for County’s residents.
