APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Deputy General Services Director, or designee, to
execute a contract with Agurto Corporation (dba Pestec Exterminator Company) in an
amount not to exceed $855,000 to provide structural integrated pest management services to
all County facilities, for the period October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This contract is funded 100% by the Facilities Maintenance Budget.
BACKGROUND:
The Facilities Maintenance Division is responsible for Integrated Pest Management at all
County facilities. The Agurto Corporation was awarded the contract after a competitive bid
process, which required the use of best practices, professional development training to
employees, proper licensing and appropriate experience.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, the county will not have a contractual engagement with an
integrated pest management (IPM) firm to provide necessary IPM services.
