Dept. of Educ. CalWORKS Stage 2 childcare revenue contract, amendment #1 BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Approval of this revenue contract will provide support funds for CalWORKS Stage 2 childcare services to program eligible children and families. The State routinely amends these agreements to add funds and/or to update funding terms and conditions. This amendment accepts additional funding from the State and amends the funding terms and conditions to include an expanded definition of childcare and to increase the child's eligibility age (from age 11 years to 13 years). CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If not approved, County will not have funds to operate CalWORKS Stage 2 childcare program. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: The Employment & Human Services Department Community Services Bureau supports three of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes - Outcome 1: “Children Ready for and Succeeding in School,” Outcome 3: “Families that are Economically Self-sufficient,” and, Outcome 4: “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing.” These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County.
